BRUXELLES (BELGIO) (ITALPRESS) – Accordo in Consiglio Europeo sui “top jobs” della nuova legislatura. E’ arrivato un primo via libera al bis di Ursula Von der Leyen alla presidenza della Commissione Europea, alla nomina di Antonio Costa a presidente del Consiglio Europeo e di Kaja Kallas ad alto rappresentante per gli Affari Esteri e la politica di sicurezza. Un’intesa raggiunta senza l’Italia. Secondo quanto si apprende da fonti di Palazzo Chigi, nel quadro delle votazioni in Consiglio Europeo sulle nomine dei nuovi vertici Ue, il Governo italiano ha ribadito la propria contrarietà al metodo seguito nella scelta da parte dei negoziatori Ppe, S&D e Renew esprimendo voto contrario a Costa e Kallas. Per quanto Von der Leyen si è deciso per un voto di astensione nel rispetto delle diverse valutazioni tra i partiti della maggioranza di governo, e nell’attesa di conoscere le linee programmatiche e aprire una negoziazione sul ruolo dell’Italia. “La proposta formulata da popolari, socialisti e liberali per i nuovi vertici europei è sbagliata nel metodo e nel merito. Ho deciso di non sostenerla per rispetto dei cittadini e delle indicazioni che da quei cittadini sono arrivate con le elezioni. Continuiamo a lavorare per dare finalmente all’Italia il peso che le compete in Europa”, commenta su X il premier Giorgia Meloni.
