That’s the subject of a world congress which opens in Rome on Tuesday entitled ‘Child Dignity in the Digital World’. The four day meeting brings together different government and police representatives, software companies, religious leaders and medical experts specialized in the impact of on-line abuse.

LA VALLETTA (MALTA) (MNA/ITALPRESS) – An international law enforcement operation coordinated by Europol has resulted in the arrest of two men in Malta in connection with the online sexual exploitation of children.

The operation, named “Operation Stream,” saw the collaboration of police forces from over 35 countries worldwide, leading to the identification of 1,400 suspects and the arrest of 79 individuals, including the two men apprehended by the Malta Police Force. As part of the operation, the Malta Police conducted a raid that resulted in the seizure of electronic equipment and other devices related to the exploitation.

Authorities have not provided further details regarding the identities or specific charges against the arrested individuals. The operation also led to a significant breakthrough in the fight against online child exploitation, with the shutdown of the “Kidflix” platform.

Known as one of the largest online hubs for paedophilic content, the platform contained over 72,000 videos. The closure of “Kidflix” is seen as a major victory in the battle to combat online abuse and trafficking. Authorities continue to investigate the full scope of the operation, with further arrests anticipated as the investigation progresses.

The Malta Police, along with international law enforcement agencies, are working to ensure that those involved in the distribution and exploitation of such content face justice.

Two Maltese men have been arrested as part of “Operation Stream,” an international investigation spearheaded by Europol aimed at tackling online child sexual exploitation. The police reported that in February, they received information from Europol identifying two Maltese men believed to be involved in uploading and purchasing material on Kidflix. “After conducting investigations, both suspects, aged 27 and 26, were arrested on March 10,” the police stated in a press release.
