This morning, the crisis hotline Alarm Phone was informed about a boat in distress at sea. Around 300 people were on an overcrowded fishing trawler between Tunisia and Lampedusa. In adverse weather conditions and up to 28 knots of wind (50 km/h), RESQSHIP’s sailing ship Nadir was the only available asset of the civil fleet and set off for the given position. Together with the reconnaissance aircraft Seabird of the NGO Sea-Watch, the Nadir found the heavily overcrowded fishing boat around 4 pm. The boat originally had departed from Libya. Since then, the Nadir has been accompanying the boat towards Lampedusa. حذرت منظمة “الارم فون” غير الحكومية السلطات إلى وجود مجموعة مكونة من 30 مهاجرًا على متن قارب عائم.
وقالت الارم فون على منصة إكس الخاصة بها: “أبلغوا أنهم لا يستطيعون الاستمرار لأن المحرك والبوصلة معطلان”.
ودعت المنظمة غير الحكومية إلى عملية إنقاذ فورية في البحر الأبيض المتوسط قبالة سواحل ليبيا، حيث يوجد أشخاص في المياه.
كما حثت منظمة ميديتيرانيا الإنسانية الإيطالية المحكمة الجنائية الدولية على التحقيق مع وزير الداخلية الإيطالي ماتيو بيانتيدوسي لدوره في إعادة المهاجرين الذين تم اعتراضهم في البحر الأبيض المتوسط إلى ليبيا، وهي ممارسة تقول المنظمة غير الحكومية إنها تنتهك اتفاقيات جنيف بشأن حماية اللاجئين.
يأتي ذلك مع تزايد الانتقادات لسياسات الهجرة التي تنتهجها إيطاليا، والتي تقول جماعات حقوق الإنسان إنها تعرض آلاف الأشخاص للخطر من خلال إعادتهم إلى ليبيا، التي لا تزال تشكل خطورة كبيرة على المهاجرين.
