These images show Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky visiting the liberated city of Kherson on Monday morning (14November2022).
Ukrainian troops entered the city to joyous scenes on Friday after Russian troops pulled back across the Dnipro river, south towards Crimea. They had occupied the city since the early days of their invasion in February and Russian President Vladimir Putin had named Kherson as one of four partially occupied Ukrainian regions that would be annexed and become part of Russia at the end of September. However, just over a month later his troops withdrew from Kherson, a key strategic city near the mouth of the Dnipro.
During the visit, Zelensky was greeted with cheers of ‘Slava Ukraini’ (Glory to Ukraine!) and joked that he had come to the city to get watermelon - the foodstuff the Kherson region is famous for. Video footage also shows him singing the Ukrainian national anthem.

KIEV(ITALPRESS) – “La situazione nella regione di Odessa è molto difficile. Dopo l’attacco notturno dei droni iraniani, Odessa e altre città e villaggi della regione sono al buio. Finora, più di un melione e messo persone a Odessa sono senza elettricità. Solo le infrastrutture critiche sono connesse e nella misura in cui è possibile fornire elettricità”. Lo ha detto il presidente ucraino, Volodymyr Zelensky, in un videomessaggio postato su Telegram. “In generale, continuano in diverse regioni le interruzioni di corrente – aggiunge – Quasi ogni giorno in diverse regioni ci sono bombardamenti, ci sono attacchi missilistici, attacchi di droni. Gli impianti energetici vengono colpiti quasi ogni giorno”. Zelensky ha invitato i cittadini a ridurre il consumo di elettricità. -foto agenziafotogramma.it- (ITALPRESS).
