تعرضت الأراضي الإسبانية لانقطاع للتيار الكهربائي مما تسبب أيضًا في مشاكل خطيرة لشبكة النقل بأكملها.

ووفق شركة “ريد إليكرتيكا” (ري)، تم تفعيل خطط الطوارئ لاستعادة الإمدادات.

وقالت الشركة، إنه يجري حاليا “تحليل” أسباب انقطاع التيار الكهربائي.

وقع انقطاع التيار الكهربائي حوالي الساعة 12:30 ظهرا، مما أدى إلى شل حركة البلاد، مع امتداد الاضطرابات إلى البرتغال المجاورة وبعض المناطق في فرنسا.

وفي إسبانيا، قامت العاصمة مدريد بتفعيل خطة الطوارئ وتوظيف ضباط الشرطة البلدية لتنظيم حركة المرور، مع إطفاء إشارات المرور.

والغيت الرحلات الجوية إلى المطارات الرئيسية في حين تم إخلاء مترو مدريد.
